“I am a creative magpie, drawn to the overlooked and discarded--the detritus of everyday life. I can still remember the dioramas I made as a kid and have many of the tiny ‘treasures’ I collected during my early childhood in Long Beach, CA.
I love to purposefully blur the lines between ‘high’ and ‘low’ art and to try and capture the wonder of storytelling and curiosity about what it means to be human.
I am inspired by the work of artists ranging from Louise Nevelson, Joseph Cornell, and Betty Saar, to El Anatsui, Nick Cave, and Franco Mondini Ruiz, among many, many others.”
